Ljiljana Filipovic

Ljiljana Filipovic is the author of the books Filozofija i antipsihijatrija Ronalda D. Lainga (Philosophy and the Anti-Psychiatry of Ronald D. Laing) (1990), Nevidljivi pas (The Invisible Dog) (novel, 1985), Nesvjesno u filozofiji (The Unconscious in Philosophy) (1997), Sokol u susteraju (The Hawk in the Shoe-maker's Shop)(novel, 2000), co-author of the books Ambivalenz des Fin de siècle (1998), Kroatisch für Alle (1992), Psychotherapie und Psychoanalyse in Osteuropa (2003), The Couch and the Silver Screen (PDF) (2003), Rjecnik Treceg programa Hrvatskog radija (Dictionary of the Third Program)(1994), etc. She is also the author of numerous radio plays, and has contributed regularly to a variety of cultural magazines.

Ljiljana Filipovic received her Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Zagreb with a dissertation on the philosophical implications of the concept of the unconscious and her essays and articles cover topics on the cultural phenomena explained by interaction of philosophy and psychoanalysis. She has translated into Croatian books by T.S.Szasz, The Manufacture of Madness (Zagreb,1970), R..D. Laing, The Voice of Experience

Ljiljana Filipovic is the Editor for philosophy at Croatian Radio 3 (cultural program) and Reader in Psychoanalysis of drama at the Academy of dramatic art in Zagreb.

30 years activity as a publicist and writer for various cultural journals or magazines and media (15 dana, Filozofska istrazivanja, Gordogan, Quorum, Europski glasnik, Arkzin, III. program Hrvatskog radija, Odjek, Rijeci, Republika, Frakcija, TNT-Theatre and Theory, Tvrdja, Mogucnosti, etc., Dramski program, Croatian radio collaborator with Austrian radio Östereich 1), founder and editor of the psychoanalytic editions: "Transfer". Essays and articles cover topics on the interaction of philosophy, psychiatry and psychoanalysis.

The novel "The Hawk in the Shoe-maker's Shop" has been short listed for the best Croatian novel in 2002 by journal "Jutarnji list" and it has been short listed for the prize "Mesa Selimovic" in Tuzla for the best novel written in Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian and Montenegrin.
